This 18,000 sq. ft, 1980’s house had the space, but lacked the character that the new owners wished, as they embarked on the next phase of their lives. Brian Hemingway was asked if the house could be transformed into a house more consistent with his work. A subsequent, substantial renovation is underway that will introduce extensive use of West Coast Douglas Fir in newly clad structure, window systems and details. The final resulting home through materials and details will be reborn reflecting both the owners’ and the designer’s pursuit of an architecture that is imbued with a common worldview and aesthetic.
